How to practice metal guitar
Time spent isn't progress. Every session should go after one specific thing that's holding you back.
Why noodling doesn't work
Playing songs you already know at 90% accuracy feels productive and changes almost nothing. Real progress comes from isolating the exact spot that breaks (the string change, the mute, the timing) and working it just below the tempo where it falls apart.

What the research says
- Massed vs distributed practice: why short, frequent sessions beat one long grind.
- Deliberate practice and guitar speed: why focused reps beat hours of playing.
